Junior Structural Engineer

Design of lightweight metal and glass structures for architectural applications.

Requied Skills / Qualifications
  • Civil/Structural Engineering or Architect degree, specialized in structural design.
  • Excellent academic record.

Responsabilities
  • Review technical specifications, codes and standards.
  • Conceptual design of structures, connections and details.
  • Development of complex numerical simulations (global models and 3D detailed models).
  • Structural design of steel and glass structures.
  • Thermal and energy performance analysis of cladding components.
  • Coordination with the design team by means of drawings, 3D models, reports and specifications.
  • Generation of accurate engineering documentation for review by the client/project team/control agencies.
  • Determination of fabrication requirements: Tolerances, production controls…
  • Development of method statements: Construction phases.
  • Specification and execution of physical tests (internal and external labs).
  • Technical supervision of the fabrication and on-site assembly: Factory inspections, site inspections and assistance to the site team.

Site manager

Responsible for managing and supervising all Bellapart site operations including labour resourcing, material delivery, liaising with client, Main Contractor and other trades as and when required, Health and Safety, site record keeping. In addition, coordination with Bellapart project and fabrication team to ensure timely delivery of material to site or temporary off-site storage. Responsible for production of Method statements, risk assessments including COSSH and Project specific H+S plans.

Requied Skills / Qualifications

• Industrial Engineer, Civil Engineer, Technical Architect or similar or 5 years proven experience of working on relevant projects.
• Minimum 5 years experience in site management.
• Familiar with construction process from design to project delivery on site.
• Knowledge of structural design and basic knowledge of carpentry and lightweight facades.
• Knowledge of industrial engineering and lightweight structures.
• Experience in project management, cost control, procurement of resources, planning, monitoring quality.
•Good knowledge of relevant construction details, fabrication processes of glass and metals including quality control.
• Accomplished user of office software like MS Word, Microsoft Project, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
• Ability to use AutoCAD design software.
• Fluent in or native English and French speaker, or high level of Catalan and / or Spanish.

Complementary Skills

• Previous experience in bespoke façade design and lightweight structures.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
• Availability to travel regularly and for longer periods.
• Basic Course PRL (60h).
• CSCS card holder.
• Preferably SMSTS or SSSTS trained.

Responsabilities
  • Ensure and manage that the project is executed according to the costs, deadlines, quality and safety established by the company.

Design Engineer

To manage, understand and implement the project design and to ensure the timely production in accordance with the company quality standards.

Requied Skills / Qualifications
  • University degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Civil Engineering, Superior or Technical Architecture or similar.
  • 3 years’ minimum experience in a construction/design related business environment.
  • Knowledge of structural and basic knowledge of carpentry and light-weight facades.
  • Knowledge of European standard, building regulations and design guides.
  • Well-developed communication skills.
  •  Proven experience in design and use of Autocad 2D and 3D Solidworks.
  • Proven ability and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Project.
  • High English level.
Complementary Skills
  • Master degree in structural design or calculation.
  • Knowledge of Rhinoceros + Grasshopper.
  • Experience in CNC programming.
  • Basic LRP course (60h).
  • French.
Responsabilities
  • To control and ascertain that the design is completed in accordance with the agreed specification.
  • Collaborate with both the project and the workshop team to identify cost efficient fabrication methods and competitive suppliers.

Project Manager

Managing and coordinating the project requirements on a daily basis through the design, fabrication/procurement and site delivery process. Attending regular meetings with the Professional team through the project phases. Producing regular project updates to Project Director and Bellapart management.

Requied Skills / Qualifications
  • Industrial Engineer, Civil Engineer, Architect, Technical Architect or similar.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in the built environment industry.
  • Knowledge of the building design process from concept to completion.
  • Contractual and commercial awareness
  • Understanding structural concepts. building physics and philosophy of lightweight structures.
  • Ability to deliver on time and the required quality.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of fabrication systems including, quality control methods and typical fabrication processes of glass and metals.
  • Experience of site installation procedures including H&S documentation, temporary works and installation methods as well as site quality control.
  • Familiar with typical office software such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
  • Proficiency in German. English and French additional asset.
Complementary Skills
  • Knowledge of building facade design including construction detailing, structural and building physics analysis, 3D modelling (e.g. Robot) and FEA analysis (e.g. Ansys).
  • Knowledge of European codes of practice, building regulations and building design guides.
  • Ability to independently administrate Construction Contracts.
  • Experience of CAD modelling software such as Solidworks, AutoDesk AutoCAD, Rhinoceros + Grasshopper etc.
  • Appreciation of modern and automated fabrication processes.
  • Basic health & safety training for managers (60h Nivel Básico, Manager CSCS or equivalent).
