Mig Meló Restaurant

L'Escala, Girona (Spain) - 2008

Mig Meló Restaurant is located along the shore of Riells beach, in the heart of the Costa Brava. The geometry of the structure is a half eclipse inscribed in a rectangular prism that measures 18m x 23m x 6.8m. The structure of the dome was constructed with the Bellapart Bubble system, composed of tubular rectangular bars and nodes made of steel painted in wrought-iron black. Union soldered peripherally and screwed into the rest of the structure. The glass is insulated and it is united with the structure by way of a hidden point-fixed system. Incorporated into the structure is a smoke evacuation system with eight automized outlets.
